The Peanut Project is the photographic documentation of a community of warehouse dwellers in East London through portraiture. These people could be the last ones to occupy the spaces as they are under increased pressure to survive the rapid gentrification to the area that threatens their livelihood.

Redevelopment to the area has been heavily invested in since London was granted the 2012 Olympics and has influenced a dramatic change on the landscape.

Alex who is a member of the community has documented his friends and neighbours as a way to highlight and preserve their existence before its impending destruction.

Alex Robertson is a London based photographer who is interested in exploring the relationship that community has within the world. He has gained worldwide experiences having spent many years working and travelling before more recently returning to the UK. The stories that Alex tells reflect what he has been witness to and his own personal life experiences.
